About Us

A Mission to Heal

Our business was born out of a deep commitment to serving those who have selflessly served others. Founded in Sebec, Maine, this 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was created to provide a unique space for veterans, active-duty military, first responders, caregivers, and their families to experience healing through nature. The idea began as a vision to offer these individuals a sanctuary where they could find peace, healing, and camaraderie. It has since grown into a meaningful resource that uses the natural world to foster recovery and emotional well-being.

Our founder, who has a strong background in service and personal healing, saw the powerful impact nature can have on mental health. River’s Bend Trout was established with the purpose of offering programs that not only provide therapeutic outdoor activities like fly fishing but also a sense of belonging and community. From the beginning, the organization has been driven by the belief that those who have given so much deserve a peaceful, supportive environment to restore their mental and emotional health.

Since its founding, River’s Bend Trout has continued to grow, expanding its reach and deepening its impact. Each step forward is a testament to the strength of the individuals it serves and the mission to make a difference. We remain dedicated to helping veterans, first responders, and their families find peace and healing through outdoor programs that nurture both the mind and body.
